Welcome to AlgoLibre!
Free computing and networking infrastructure for free software volunteers
AlgoLibre was founded by Nikolaos S. Karastathis (NSK) on 3 November 2007. The mission of AlgoLibre is to offer free services to free software developers, activists, and other people who have helped the free software movement.
AlgoLibre is currently supported solely by NSK. Donations are welcome. Currently a portion of the Hyperion server supports AlgoLibre, but NSK is looking for other people willing to donate their server and join the AlgoLibre network.
AlgoLibre is currently a pet project of NSK. In the future NSK envisages it becoming a not-for-profit association.

Who is eligible
NSK decides who is eligible to benefit from AlgoLibre's free services.
AlgoLibre currently works primarily through invitation. If you are a well-known free softwre developer you NSK may come in contact with you (on Freenode IRC or your project's IRC server, or through email, or other means) and offer you free services.
AlgoLibre also accepts requests for free services. Just send an email to NSK (nsk at karastathis dot org) where you explain what you have done for the free software community, and NSK may decide to help you.
Currently AlgoLibre is open to anyone who has achieved the Advogato Master certification or is a registered Debian Developer (dd). To get free services, just send an email to NSK.
Philosophy
Free software developers help our society and economy by creating a post-scarcity software world. The society (and companies using free software) has a moral obligation to help free software developers, especially those from developing countries who are in need.
As a social entrepreneur, NSK created AlgoLibre to offer free software developers various services without payment. Developers who are eligible are welcome to host their personal webpages and free software projects with AlgoLibre.
AlgoLibre should be run as a community and in the future it could become a registered charity.
Please join us!
NSK seeks other people who have access to computing and networking infrastructure and would be willing to donate a portion of them to interested free software developers.
If you own a server you are encouraged to contact User:NSK and ask to join AlgoLibre if you wish to offer free services through us.
